ProxsysRx Announces Appointment of Director

(Birmingham, AL) ProxsysRx today announced the appointment of Stuart C. McWhorter of Nashville to its board of directors. Mr. McWhorter is Chairman and co-founder of Clayton Associates, a leading venture capital firm based in Brentwood, Tennessee.

“Stuart McWhorter is widely respected for his health care and entrepreneurial expertise. We look forward to the benefit of his service,” said ProxsysRx founder and CEO George Salem. McWhorter serves on advisory boards for multiple Clayton Associates investment partnerships including FCA Venture Partners, Rolling Hills Ventures, Bullpen Ventures, and Clayton Advisors. Mr. McWhorter also serves on the boards of directors of FirstBank of Tennessee, the Tennessee Business Roundtable, and the Nashville’s Agenda Steering Committee.

Mr. McWhorter has served as Chief Executive Officer of the Nashville Entrepreneur Center. He was a founding member of OrthoLink Physicians Corporation where he served as Vice President of Managed Care and later as Vice President of Acquisitions. OrthoLink was later acquired by United Surgical Partners. Prior to service with OrthoLink Mr. McWhorter performed various roles with Tenet Healthcare’s Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. Mr. McWhorter is a graduate of Clemson University and he received his Masters in Health Administration from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
